CLAVERING & LANGLEY: THE FIRST THOUSAND YEARS

CLAVERING & LANGLEY: 1783-1983
by E.M Ludgate

These two books comprise a complete chronology of Clavering and its associated village
of Langley in NW Essex - from Domesday to the 20th century. The first book examines
the history of the villages against the background of national events from Domesday to
the 18th century.

The second volume starts with the evidence of the 1783 maps and
surveys and takes the story through to the 1980s. The books are a work of scholarship
and yet easy to read and give a vivid picture of the past.

Price £5.00 each from M & M Supermarket or by emailing jacqueline.cooper@virgin.net

NOTE Since the deaths of Eileen and her sister Joan Ludgate, the remaining stock of these
